I feel a bit lost without my Bernina. My studio just feels so empty with that open space on my table. How many more days? I have to do something creative and actually without a machine, now is a great time to try something new! But of course, I still have to use fabric and I want something colorful. So.....I am making a strip fabric wreath.
I foolishly bought a fabric quilt online and then when I received it I knew there was no way I would ever make it. Way too many little boring squares and I don't particularly care for batik fabrics. But....why not cut the charm pack of 100 pieces into strips?
I cut each charm pack square into 5 1" strips. Now I just have to tie them all on the wire wreath I found at Michaels. Taking a bit longer than I anticipated (I'm into instant gratification!) but I'll post a pic when I'm finished. I bought an extra wire wreath in case Kirby wants to make one. And I for sure have plenty of fabric strips to make lots of these!
Hi! My name is Tricia Young and I live in Houston with my husband Jay. We live in a 60 year old house with lots of character which means we are constantly updating or fixing something. My mother taught me how to sew when I was very young. Back then, our sewing room was a closet. Now I have a whole "studio" and I love it! I am also a new grandmother to the two most beautiful twin boys ever. I am fortunate to live close to my wonderful daughter and son-in-law so we get together frequently. In addition to spending time with my family and quilting, I also love to cook, decorate my house and shop for clothes.
